Cancellation policy

Purpose and Scope

Shenanigans Inc. prides itself on delivering memorable event experiences and does not typically cancel events. However, circumstances occasionally require attendees to adjust their plans or force the company to reschedule an event. This policy explains the terms under which attendees may cancel their registration or request a refund/credit, and the rare circumstances under which Shenanigans Inc. might cancel or reschedule an event. It applies to all ticketed events, workshops, and experiences offered by Shenanigans Inc., unless a specific event description states otherwise.

Attendee Cancellations

  1. Notice and form of cancellation – To cancel a registration, attendees must notify Shenanigans Inc. in writing (via email or the designated cancellation form). Many industry policies require written cancellations to ensure clear communication.
  2. Refund schedule – Refunds are based on how far in advance the cancellation occurs. Clear timelines help set expectations and provide fairness. The schedule is as follows:
    • 14 days or more before the event – You may receive a full refund of the ticket price (excluding any non-refundable booking/service fees). The CUES policy grants full refunds when cancellations occur far in advance of the event, and other sample policies recommend generous refunds for early notice.
    • 7–13 days before the event – You may receive a 50% refund or choose to apply the full value of your ticket as a credit toward another Shenanigans INC event (subject to availability). Many sample policies impose partial refunds for mid‑term notice and allow credit as an alternative.
    • Less than 7 days before the event – Tickets are non‑refundable, but you may request a credit for a future event if we can fill your spot. Several models specify that last‑minute cancellations do not qualify for refunds but may receive credit or allow a friend to attend instead.
  3. Non-refundable deposits and fees – Any deposit or down payment paid to hold your spot is non‑refundable, consistent with event‑planning best practices, where deposits compensate for work already performed and secure vendor bookings. Booking fees charged by ticketing platforms are also non-refundable.
  4. Transfer of tickets – You may transfer your ticket to another individual for the same event without penalty. Please notify us in writing of the substitute attendee’s name. This aligns with policies that allow substitute attendees as an alternative to cancellation.
  5. Special circumstances – If unforeseen emergencies (e.g., illness, family emergencies) prevent you from attending and you notify us as soon as practicable, we may offer a refund or credit on a case‑by‑case basis. Please provide documentation if requested.

Company Cancellations or Rescheduling

  1. Rare cancellations – Shenanigans Inc. is not one to cancel; our core mission is hosting events. In the rare event that we must cancel due to factors beyond our control (e.g., severe weather, venue closure, low enrolment, health and safety concerns, or force‑majeure events), we will notify registrants as soon as possible and offer the choice of:

    • Rescheduling – Transfer your registration to the new date at no additional cost.
    • Credit – Receive a credit equal to your original purchase for another Shenanigans Inc. event; or
    • Full refund – Obtain a full refund of the ticket price paid.

    Industry policies emphasize that organizers should reserve the right to cancel or reschedule and, if rescheduled, offer refunds when attendees cannot make the new date.

  2. Change of venue or format – If an event is moved to a new venue or converted to a virtual format, we will inform you promptly. Should you be unable to attend due to these changes, you may request a refund or credit.

Rescheduling and Amendments

If you wish to reschedule your attendance to another date (subject to availability), please get in touch with us at least 7 days before the event. We may charge a small administrative fee for rescheduling, as some sample clauses suggest.

Shenanignas INC reserves the right to revise this policy periodically. Changes will be posted on our website and will not affect cancellations made before the revision date.
